Dear friends ,
Just read the story at http://www.goodnewsindia.com/index.php/Supplement/article/indian-grit-at-australian-ultramarathon/
My name is also appeared in the Limca Book of Records 2005 for Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi in 122.45 hours in 2004.
Currently I hold the Indian (as well as South Asian) record for 6-days run which is 558 km made in Australia, 2005. Before me it was in the name of Tirtha Kumar Phani of Calcutta who covered 478 km in Australian 6-days race, 1987.
Now I wish to do Delhi-Mumbai within 3 weeks. The longest Indian record I found in Limca Book was 1553 km done by 20 army athletes in 41 days during 1998. They started from Srinagar and finished in New Delhi via Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal, Haryana.
The only wait is for some potential sponsors to cover the basic needs of the run i.e. support vehicle, meals of mine and support crew, shoes and apparels, thats all.
If someone of use, please come forward and contact me.
Cheers,
- Arun (a_runrunrun@yahoo.com)
